 Christian Orphans Organization - Malawi (COOM) is a registered non-profit organization established in 2016 and dedicated to providing care and support for orphans and at-risk children in Malawi. Our mission centers around prioritizing the well-being and future of vulnerable children, with a strong emphasis on child protection, education, health, and empowerment. COOM works with a focus on meeting the holistic needs of orphans, foster parents, and widows through a variety of support services, advocacy, and skill-building programs. In addition, COOM engages in evangelistic efforts aimed at moral development and behavior change for children. 

To create a brighter future for orphans and children at risk through education, health, and empowerment, ensuring they grow into self-reliant and responsible individuals. 

To improve the quality of life for orphans, foster parents, and widows by providing food, shelter, education, health care, and vocational training, while advocating for child protection and empowering marginalized groups, particularly young girls, to overcome gender discrimination. 

COOM's strategy is built on a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach that addresses the most pressing needs of orphans and at-risk children in Malawi, integrating education, health, advocacy, and skill development. Central to our mission is the commitment to fostering a holistic environment where children can thrive, regardless of their circumstances. 

Our education and skills development efforts are foundational to our work. We offer Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs to lay a strong academic and developmental foundation for young children. COOM also provides vital support for orphaned children in primary and secondary education, ensuring they have access to school materials, uniforms, and school fees. In addition, we focus on computer literacy, equipping children with essential technical skills to prepare them for future opportunities. For older orphans and foster parents, we provide vocational training such as sewing programs, helping them gain practical skills that foster self-reliance.

Our commitment to health and mental well-being is also a key pillar of our strategy. COOM offers psychosocial and physical therapy to support the mental and emotional health of children, addressing trauma and other challenges they face. Additionally, our school feeding programs ensure that orphans receive daily meals, promoting their physical development and supporting their learning.

In the area of empowerment and advocacy, COOM is dedicated to reducing gender discrimination and increasing access to education for young girls, empowering them to achieve their full potential. We also engage in community advocacy, focusing on child protection, nutrition, and the overall well-being of at-risk children. Through moral and behavioral development programs, we encourage positive behavior change among children through evangelistic initiatives that nurture moral values.
